CBWN is an accredited organisation directly recognised by 54 governments across six continents committed to advancing UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 and the Commonwealth Charter. CBWN Kenya was launched on 20th August 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>CBWN-K is part of the larger Commonwealth Businesswomen\u2019s Network (CBWN) mandated to get over one (1) billion women in the Commonwealth to connect, collaborate and do commerce.&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> CBWN works with women in business by connecting governments and the private sector to encourage and enable women\u2019s economic empowerment through delivering activities, initiatives, products and services focused on trade, talent and training. CBWN also sits on the main governance body on gender for the 54 commonwealth governments. It is the only accredited membership organization for women\u2019s economic empowerment that is recognized by the 54 official Commonwealth governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>When she addressed the Business Forum in CHOGM 2018, Former Prime minster of the UK Theresa May said \u201cIf women played the same role as men in labour markets, as much as $ 28 trillion would be added to global GDP by 2025.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Freda Miriklis, CBWN\u2019s Chair, further supported the above sentiments by stating that \u201cWomen are the emerging growth market that governments and companies cannot ignore.\u201d Governments and companies are being called upon to commit to actions that are geared towards women\u2019s economic empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CBWN-K Membership\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lDVd2lx6zpg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Vision<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be the platform for members\/businesswomen, enabling them to connect, collaborate and do commerce with a billion women in the larger commonwealth network.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strengthening the commonwealth by building businesses, and advancing women from the 54 countries in one platform.
